Greeting
The Asian Society of Psychosomatic Medicine held its inaugural conference in Tokyo in 1984, establishing itself as a forum for the presentation and exchange of psychosomatic medicine research among Asian countries.
Since then, conferences have been held biennially in various locations across Asia, attracting numerous participants from different countries each time. These gatherings provide opportunities for individuals involved in psychosomatic medicine throughout Asia to connect and share insights.
Notably, during the 9th conference held in Tokyo in 2000, the organization’s name was changed from the International Society of Psychosomatic Medicine Asian Chapter to the Asian Society of Psychosomatic Medicine.
In Asia, alongside economic development, various psychosocial problems have emerged, leading to an increase in stress-related disorders. The importance of psychosomatic medicine is expected to grow even further, necessitating the development and advancement of psychosomatic medicine that aligns with Asian cultural and environmental contexts.
We hope you are able to join us at future congresses of the Asian Society of Psychosomatic Medicine.
